Requirements

Tools/raw materials All products consisting of at least 20% pre-consumer and post-consumer recycled materials are eligible for GRS certification. The product meets GRS standards for effective compliance; the manufacturing process and internal procedures are properly organized and managed consistent with the product itself; and the chain of custody is maintained to ensure proper identification of recycled materials and avoid confusion or substitution of other materials.

Steps

1.First of all GRS is traceable, if company A wants to apply for GRS certification, then its upstream suppliers also need to be certified by GRS. If the upstream suppliers do not have GRS certification, they can apply for certification together with their suppliers.

2.GRS certification access conditions: the proportion of recycled content in the product is greater than 20%; if the product plans to hang the GRS logo, the proportion of recycled content needs to be greater than 50%.

3.The factory audit includes the following 4 modules.

① Recycled content: products with recycled content greater than 20% is the entry condition for certification.

② Social responsibility: If the company has successfully passed the social responsibility audit of BSCI, SA8000, GSCP, etc., it can be exempted from the assessment after passing the assessment of the certification body.

③ Chemical management: The policy and policy of chemical management used in the production process of GRS products.

④ Environmental management: Whether the company has an environmental management system, and whether there is control over energy use, water use, waste water, and waste gas, etc.

4.Application steps: Select a qualified certification body to fill in the information, the technical staff will assess whether they are qualified to carry out the certification and accept the application. Arrange the audit time and auditors to the factory audit, complete the audit, meet the certification and give the certificate.
