Introduction
The special structure of Cordura fabric gives it excellent abrasion resistance, tear resistance, unparalleled strength, good hand feel, light weight, softness, colour stability and ease of care. Today, Cordura is used in a wide range of products such as luggage and footwear. All Cordura fabrics are woven, dyed and finished in accordance with DuPont's raw testing standards.
Cordura yarns are available in fibre finenesses ranging from 8 denier to 2000 denier, meaning that the durable fabrics you know and rely on are used in a whole new range of products. From luggage and backpacks to boots and functional wear, it's easier to choose a DuPont CORDURA fabric that's light, quick-drying, soft and durable for your needs.
Fabric Technology
CORDURA is a leading technology. CORDURA fabrics are twice as durable as standard nylon, three times as durable as polyester and 10 times as durable as cotton canvas at the same weight. This means that the lighter CORDURA provides the same durability as the heavier standard nylon, polyester or cotton canvas. The durability of CORDURA is also evident when compared to standard nylon, poly or cotton canvas at the same weight. The durability of CORDURA fabric is also reflected in its exceptional tear strength and abrasion resistance. In fact, CORDURA fabrics are used by leading militaries around the world to create high-performance military equipment because of their durability and strength.
